Advanced Observation Systems

Over the past few years, we’ve found that many or our Broadband customers need reliable, high-resolution video observation that gives them the ability to monitor through the Internet. Some needed to keep tabs on remote oilfield locations, while others need to watch production areas and shop yards.

Today's systems are highly integrated network products, and require a significant amount of IT understanding. However, many IT professionals don't have the analog video and optics experience, while many traditional technicians don't have the IT experience. Up until recently, many systems were cumbersome, hard to use, and often were found to not even be recording when the day came that you needed it the most.

Because of the lack of knowledgeable, local dealers, many businesses were forced to buy poor quality, generic boxed systems from retail stores. To that end, Basin Broadband, Inc., has assembled a solution, using years of experience with video as well as implementing compression technologies learned from our 12 years providing broadband services.

We look at three areas that are critical are often overlooked, especially in store bought systems, when we prepare solutions:

  1. Your goals need to be identified. Are you trying to capture every license plate coming into a yard, or monitor shop hands? Are you needing to protect assets, or just keep employees working? Do you need to integrate multiple locations together into one remote viewer? All of these things can be accomplished.
  2. Camera optics need to be selected to match what each view is aimed at. Most cameras have a generic wide-angle lens, which, even on the highest resolution cameras, is worthless if you’re trying to identify a person even 50’ away. Each camera position is evaluated before the installation to determine what type of camera and lens is needed. Extra Infrared units can even be installed to really light up big areas, even  in total darkness.
  3. Older systems don’t utilize modern compression technology. Many systems only feature little or no compression technology. The newest standard, H.264 compression,  is revolutionizing the market, and offers higher resolution recording, while consuming much less hard drive space. Not only does make video storage more efficient, but also makes online observation and management through the Internet much more usable with increased bandwidth efficiency.

Our ‘Pro’ Systems provide much higher record resolution, greatly improved compression, and the ability to integrate systems at multiple locations. A great many of the systems out there will perform great in the office. A key difference is how the unit performs remotely- if you are trying to monitor or search for events from a remote location that doesn't have cutting edge broadband, the degradation of performance can render many systems useless.

All of our systems include:
•Multiple record modes - Motion, Continuous, Alarm inputs
•Motion Detection - Settable per channel.
•IR Remote Control for Console
•USB port for Backup
•Internet Explorer Based Internet Viewer
•PTZ RS-485 Control for Optional PTZ cameras
•Triplex operation - Record/Playback/Remote
•Real Time Viewing
•500 GB Hard Drive
•Infrared Day/Night cameras

Our H.264 ‘Pro’ Systems also include:
•H.264 Advanced Compression
•Variable Bit-Rate Internet Streams
•Full 720v480 Resolution Recording
•Linkable - Monitor and control multiple locations through one screen
